Communication is key. A good leader listens and cares about everyone's wants and needs. In my opinion a good leader should be respectful and understanding. They should take the time and investigate problems and situations they might encounter. Relate to the public and you are a good leader.

Make It Happen was born out of a simple question that the staff at TakingITGlobal were asking themselves more and more frequently: How can we enhance the effectiveness and impact of the activities of young leaders?
Early in 2008, it was decided that we would design and deliver our first e-course in order to help us and others answer that question. We combined all of the knowledge, wisdom and expertise that our staff have acquired over the years, and we compiled a team of curriculum advisors, developers, evaluators and overall education nuts who all shared the same passion for helping out future generations of global changemakers.

I am inspired by things like the "clean city" law in São Paulo that bans outdoor advertising. Not only because I think there is alot of advertising pollution around the world, but because it proves to me that a big change (that I previously would have thought that rich corportations could have stopped) can happen.
Like it has been said, people create change, and we are the people. I think there's a lot of power and inspiration in realising that.

I’m inspire by words; speeches, books, media, communication…The language is a important part of human nature and we use it in so different ways, words create so wonderful things even if they can also be hard, mean and create problems (When there’s incomprehension). They help us to enter in contact with others to share…

I'm inspired by leaders who do not look to push their own personal agenda, but instead empower others to share their vision as well. Leaders who create trusting community in this way inspire me.

Over the last several years I have been committed to several social justice projects that I have integrated into my classroom. Working with resources and ideas from Save The Children, my students branch off on their own to plan fundraisers that split proceeds between the global issue of building a school in a developing nation and a local project within their own community. I became involved with this type of classroom project after listening to Craig Kielburger address our teachers at a conference a number of years ago. I thought to myself, "I have finally found a vehicle to drive my own personal desire to effect change both at home and abroad."

Students are constantly being bombarded with IT in their lives. They come to school as digital natives and we are their immigrants. We need to teach and learn using these tools, as they are using them anyway. We need to guide them through this shift in education, or we will have a group of unmotivated, disengaged youth. By having them connect, collaborate, communicate and share by using such tools as TIGed collaborative classes and other tools, we can engage them as they prepare to become 21st Century citizens.
