1 bilion dollar for an aircraft

70 bilion for 70 US F35 fighter aircrafts
the deal of Harper government in Canada should be mentioned evry week on the media over and over.
The deal is basically a political deal which is why they try to avoid details , parlament and public
real discussion and maybe proper bid process as well.
The astronomic price tagof one bilion dollars for airplane which includes development is to fund
existing and some new US jobs in the military sector (bubbled budgets already many years) and the
absurd part is that even Canada is partner to this project no dought that there is no US commitment
or intention to allocate even 15% of the real jobs of developing this project to Canadians.
Regardlesf the price should be 400 milion dollars or 500 or 600 and if this aircraft is the best
solution possible among other competitors or if there is really any russian or other major
threat(which is the reason the US president brings to justify the deal) to our security , there are
major few points:
1 The media neglects 70 bilion dollars and does not do its job to alert the public continuously
(Read Marty Kaplan books and articles about media (see resources))
2 Politics eliminates the process of real argue and discussion and maybe for this huge budget even a
national poll would be justified
3 imgine what could be done if only one bilion of this budget would be reallocated to
welfare/education/economy
4 It is not even for Canada best benefit as US is not giving in return nothing! other projects which
are of Canada interest (like keystone and other projects are stuck)
